Figure 54 MOISTURE VS. TEMPERATURE CURVE10.3 SELECTION OF ENDING CRITERIA10.3.1 The MAX-1000 uses a sample dependent test to end a test when END TEST ONPREDICTION is selected. The prediction uses a test called the reliability criterionwhich is equal to one minus the ratio between the "actual weight loss" at a givenmoment, and the end point predicted by the microprocessor. This parameter canbe set to TIGHT, MIDRANGE, or RELAXED depending on the user's desire tobalance speed and accuracy.10.3.2 The END TEST ON RATE criteria will cause the test to end when the sampleweight loss rate has fallen below a threshold value. This is useful for samples thatdo not conform to the standard exponential drying model.10.3.3 The decision of which ending criteria to use is application dependant. Experimentwith your particular sample to determine which criteria is best for your product.See the earlier section on ENDING CRITERIA, page 29, or Appendix A or B formore details.51
