Obta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g a residence visa from <strong>the</strong> Dom<strong>in</strong>ican Consulates abroad or <strong>the</strong>M<strong>in</strong>istry of Foreign Affaires, and2. Obta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g a provisional and <strong>the</strong>n permanent residence card from <strong>the</strong> GeneralImmigration Office.a) Residence visaThe applicant of a residence visa must file <strong>the</strong> follow<strong>in</strong>g <strong>do</strong>cuments:1. Letter of request2. Duly completed Form 509-Ref.3. Letter of guarantee from a Dom<strong>in</strong>ican person or company, or a foreignerresid<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> country.4. Police Record.5. Health certificate.6. Work contract, bank letter or o<strong>the</strong>r proof of funds.7. Seven frontal photos 2" x 2" and three side photos.8. Birth certificate.9. Passport photocopies.10. Certification from <strong>the</strong> General Immigration Office of <strong>the</strong> applicant's last dateof entry <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> country.If <strong>the</strong> applicant wishes to obta<strong>in</strong> a residence visa for his/her spouse, <strong>the</strong> same<strong>do</strong>cuments must be presented <strong>in</strong> relation to <strong>the</strong> spouse, apart from those <strong>in</strong>dicated<strong>in</strong> po<strong>in</strong>ts 3 and 6. Fur<strong>the</strong>rmore, <strong>the</strong> applicant must file a copy of <strong>the</strong> marriagecertificate. For children, it is enough to comply with <strong>the</strong> requirements 7, 8and 9.The procedure takes from 10 to 12 weeks.The residence visa is valid for 60 days,and with<strong>in</strong> this term <strong>the</strong> applicant must file a residence request with <strong>the</strong> GeneralImmigration Office.b) Residence CardThe request for a provisional residence must be jo<strong>in</strong>ed by <strong>the</strong> follow<strong>in</strong>g <strong>do</strong>cuments:1. Request letter2. Duly completed Form B-1-A.3. Photocopies of passport and residence visa.4. Certification of residence visa issued by <strong>the</strong> M<strong>in</strong>istry of Foreign Affairs.5. Letter of guarantee from a Dom<strong>in</strong>ican citizen or resident legalized by PublicNotary.6. Six 2" x 2" photos (four frontal and two side photos).
