ActorsRole and Responsibilitiestasked to:• Prepare the Process Plan for adoption by theMunicipal Council;• Manage the local municipal IDP by ensuring that alldaily planning activities were performed within anefficient and effective consideration of available time,financial and human resources;• Encourage an inclusive participatory planningprocess and compliance with the action programme;• Facilitate the horizontal and vertical alignment of thevarious internal and external departmentalprogrammes;• Ensure that the planning process outcomes wereproperly documented;• Manage service providers engaged in the municipalIDP process;• Chair the IDP Steering Committee;• Nominate persons in charge of different roles;• Respond to comments on the draft reviewed IDPfrom the public;• Adjust the IDP in accordance with the comments ofthe MEC for Local Government & Traditional Affairs;and• Coordinate with various government departmentsand other HODs to ensure that all the projects,strategies and objectives of the local municipality areshared and distributed amongst governmentdepartments so that they might incorporate them intheir planning process and vice versa.Chris Hani District Participate in the IYLM IDP Representative Forum; andCouncillors/Ward Committees andCDWsProvide relevant documentation and budgetinformation for planned projects and locations withinIntsika Yethu Municipal Area for the IDP 2012-2017.Major link between municipal government andresidents;Link the planning process to their wards orconstituencies;Set out a Municipal Vision, Mission, and Values;Contribute to the Goal and Strategic Objectiveformulation for the term of office;Organise public consultation and participation;Coordinate participation of Ward Committees in theIDP Representative Forum;Ensure proper documentation of the results of theplanning of the IDP document; andAdjust the IDP in accordance with the MEC for LocalGovernment’s proposals.7
