3.3 Income and Employment dataThe tables and graphs provided below tell us that the majority of people within IYLM do not receive anyincome at all. However, this could be misleading because youth of school going age are also included in themeasurement and they generally do not receive income. Of those who do receive an income, most receivebetween R801 to R1 600. This is considered to be very low income by national standards.IYLM is a low income area; however, income levels alone do not sufficiently convey the full range of socialcircumstances that people are facing.
