These hydrological influences can be mitigated considerably if cropmanagement strategies are developed on the basis of the knowledge of environmentalconditions. Likewise, other appropriate technologies can be developed using suchknowledge and can easily be applied by farmers in rainfed situations.212 Borkakati et al
