of floor drains shall be provided to ensure complete drainage. A maximum of ten percent(10%) of the total floor surface area may be any dark color. Any st<strong>and</strong>ing water in the floorshall not exceed a depth of one-eighth inches (⅛”), shall not exceed one square foot (1 s.f.) inarea, <strong>and</strong> shall not remain on the floor more than ten (10) minutes. A sample of the proposedflooring material, other than concrete, shall be submitted to the department upon request <strong>for</strong>approval prior to installation.f.) Partition walls. Partition walls shall terminate at least six inches (6”) above the floor orshall be pl aced on a c ontinuous r aised m asonry or c oncrete b ase a t l east f our i nches ( 4”)high.g.) Hose bibs. A t least one (1) hose bib with backflow prevention shall be provided with asufficient length of hose to service both the men <strong>and</strong> women’s sections of the bathhouse.h.) Water fountain. An approved, sanitary drinking fountain shall be conveniently accessiblewithin the pool enclosure to all bathers.i.) Food. Eating <strong>and</strong> drinking shall not be permitted within the swimming pool, but may bepermitted on the deck area at a di stance of at least ten feet (10’) horizontally from the pooledge. C overedgarbage containers shall be provided where food <strong>and</strong>/or beverages are available <strong>and</strong> allowedto be consumed.j.) Lighting. T he i nterior of t he b athhouse, i ncluding t he s anitary f acility a rea, l ocker o rdressing area, <strong>and</strong> hallway, shall be well-lighted with a minimum of thirty foot c<strong>and</strong>les (30 f.c.), a s m easured a t f loor l evel, of i nc<strong>and</strong>escent l ight or e quivalent f or each s quare f oot offloor area.k.) Solid waste disposal. An adequately s ized, covered <strong>and</strong> lined trash r eceptacle s hall b eprovided in each men <strong>and</strong> women’s sanitary facility area.l.) Bathhouse amenities. A t a ll t imes, an a dequate s upply of s oap, t oilet pa per a nd p apertowels s hall be pr ovided a nd s tored i n a ppropriate di spensers c onveniently accessible t ousers. A minimum of one (1) diaper changing station <strong>for</strong> babies shall be provided in eachmen <strong>and</strong> women’s section of the bathhouse. Bathhouse mirrors shall be unbreakable.Part 23 Safetya.) Pool barrier. E ach pool shall be completely enclosed by an effective barrier that shallcon<strong>for</strong>m to the code(s) of all authorities having jurisdiction.b.) Pool operator. A pool operator shall be responsible <strong>for</strong> the operation of a pool. The pooloperator shall be in full charge of all pool use <strong>and</strong> shall have authority to en<strong>for</strong>ce all rules ofsafety <strong>and</strong> sanitation, <strong>and</strong> shall be responsible <strong>for</strong> the proper maintenance of the pool <strong>and</strong> allphysical <strong>and</strong> mechanical equipment. The pool operator shall be trained in a pool operator’s<strong>Cobb</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Douglas</strong> <strong>County</strong> Public Health<strong>Douglas</strong> <strong>Rules</strong> <strong>and</strong> Regs <strong>for</strong> <strong>Swimming</strong> <strong>Pools</strong>33
