“Listed suction outlet cover/grate” means a s uction outlet cover/grate that has been tested,certified, <strong>and</strong> listed by a nationally recognized testing laboratory in accordance with the mostrecent edition of ANSI/ASME A112.19.8 Suction fittings <strong>for</strong> swimming <strong>and</strong> wading pools,spas, hot tubs <strong>and</strong> whirlpool bathtub appliances.“Maximum system flow rate” means t he f low r esulting f rom the low est pos sible tot aldynamic head (TDH) <strong>for</strong> a circulation system.“Modification” means a ny r epair, c hange, a lteration or s ubstitution m ade t o t he pool , poolequipment, decking, bathhouse, or any other area or facility related thereof.(1) “Major modi fication” i ncludes, but i s not l imited t o, de ck <strong>and</strong>/or p ool surfacerefinishing; filter, pump or ch emical feeder r eplacement; ba thhouse f loorreplacement; plumbing or hydraulic alterations or similar changes that would requirea permit.(2) “Minor modi fication” i ncludes, but i s not l imited t o, r eplacement of pressuregauges <strong>and</strong> flow meters, or similar changes that normally would not require a permit.“Multi-purpose pool” means a pool which is designed <strong>and</strong> constructed with a combination ofbathing features which includes, but is not limited to, a waterslide, diving well, zero-depthentry, <strong>and</strong>/or other similar features.“Natural bathing place” means a bathing facility or area together with associated buildings,appurtenances <strong>and</strong> equipment, on artificial or natural ponds, springs, lakes, streams, or otherbodies of water where the public is allowed to bathe or swim.“Not open” m eans a ny pool t hat ha s be en c losed b y t he poo l ow ner, pe rmit hol der orauthorized agent with all entry points secured <strong>and</strong> posted with a conspicuous sign that reads“Pool Closed”.“Nuisance” means any condition in a pool that is conducive to the breeding of mosquitoes orother insects, or any other condition that adversely affects public health or safety.“Permit holder” m eans t he pe rson or entity that possesses a va lid permit t o operate aswimming pool <strong>and</strong> is legally responsible <strong>for</strong> the operation of the swimming pool including,but not limited to, the p ool ow ner, a gent f or t he pool ow ner, or ot her s uch a uthorized ordesignated person.“Person” m eans any i ndividual, ow ner, pa rtnership, c orporation, e ntity or a ssociation, ordesignee, including governmental entities.“Pool Operator” means a person who:(1) has been trained as a pool operator; <strong>and</strong>(2) is responsible <strong>for</strong> the pool operation; <strong>and</strong>(3) is familiar with the pool’s systems <strong>and</strong> this article.<strong>Cobb</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Douglas</strong> <strong>County</strong> Public Health<strong>Douglas</strong> <strong>Rules</strong> <strong>and</strong> Regs <strong>for</strong> <strong>Swimming</strong> <strong>Pools</strong>5
