Part 25 Spray <strong>Pools</strong>a.) Application. A ll s ections of t his a rticle s hall a pply t o s pray pool s with t he f ollowingadditional provisions:(1) Construction. T he bottom of a spray pool shall slope a maximum of one foot(1') in twelve feet (12') to an approved drain. The bottom of a spray pool shall becompletely s elf-draining a nd a llow f or no s t<strong>and</strong>ing w ater. A s pray po ol m ust belocated adjacent t o the s hallow e nd of a ny ot her pool . Water at traction devices, ifprovided shall c omply with the s ection in this a rticle e ntitled “Interactive P layDevices.” Depth markings <strong>and</strong> “No Diving” markings are not required.(2) Circulation. T he c irculation e quipment s hall be ope rated c ontinuously on atwenty-four (24) hour basis to obtain the minimum required number of one turnoverevery thirty (30) minutes. All circulated water from the pool shall be collected in anapproved surge device.(3) Water source. Spray heads shall be served by an approved water source that hasapproved backflow prevention. Spray heads <strong>and</strong> supply fixtures shall not constitute atripping hazard. Spray heads shall be installed so as to eliminate any possibility oftheir submergence.(4) Location. Spray pools must be located so that the lifeguard or operator may easilykeep bathers under surveillance. Spray pools shall not be located near the deep end ofany other pool.(5) Safety. Spray pools are exempt from Part 23 “Safety”, d.) Lifesaving equipment.Part 26 Whirlpoolsa.) Application. A ll e lements of thi s a rticle f or pool s s hall a pply to whirlpools w ith thefollowing additional provisions: Whirlpools that are emptied <strong>and</strong> cleaned after each singlebatheruse are exempt from this article.(1) Depths. Water depth shall be no more than four feet (4’). No seat or bench shallbe more than two feet (2’) below the normal waterline.(2) Slopes. Slope of the whirlpool floor shall not exceed one foot (1’) in twelve feet(12’). The whirlpool floor, seat <strong>and</strong> steps shall be completely self-draining.(3) Walk areas <strong>and</strong> decks.
