the South Yamhill River near Whiteson (14194000)at RM 27.9 was used as the upstream boundary input.Subbasin hydrographs for Cozine, Hawn, and PalmerCreeks, and the North Yamhill River were simulatedby PRMS modeling and input to the Willamette WDMfile.Figure 24 shows results of routing the inputflow 23.4 miles downstream to the mouth (drainagearea is approximately 780 mi 2 ). There were no downstreamstream-gaging-station records with concurrentprecipitation records available, so comparisonsbetween simulated and observed flows could notbe made. Although observed flow is available atLafayette (14197500) from 1908–14 and 1929–32,precipitation data were not yet being collected in ornear the basin. PRMS was used to simulate 269 mi 2 ofintervening drainage area (35 percent of the basin).There were no statistical analyses for calibration orverification for this basin. Broad and Collins (1996)report that an average of about 45 ft 3 /s was consumedin the basin in 1990. This magnitude of water consumptionwould probably decrease summer low flowssuch that simulated flows for this period would behigher than observed flows.Santiam RiverThe mapped and schematized Santiam Riverstream network is shown on figure 25. The SantiamRiver is schematized as a three-branch network withsix tributary inflows and four diversion outflows.
