Completion of the planned program (including the prerequisite T-4 certificatein a secondary field) leads to eligibility for master's level certification by theGeorgia Professional Standards Commission.Secondary Education M.Ed. Program GoalsThe Secondary Education Master of Education program is designed to improve thequality of teaching in grades 6-12. The program offers a wide scope of advanced coursecontent intended to expand levels of knowledge, skills, and dispositions in secondarylevel teachers. Having completed the program of study, candidates will be TransformingPractitioners who possess advanced levels of professional knowledge based on groundedresearch and the wisdom of best practice; commitment to the cultivation of inquiry andreflection; and dedication to collaboration, advocacy for learners, and life-long learning.The following program outcomes correlate to the elements, principles, and characteristicsof the unit’s conceptual framework, The Transforming Practitioner.Secondary Education Master of Education Program OutcomesUpon completion of the Secondary Education Master of Education program, the candidatewill:Content and Process: To Know• Have advanced understanding of the central concepts, tools of inquiry, and structuresof his/her discipline.
