RegistrationRegistration is required for admission to any class. The <strong>University</strong> requires all studentsto have a clear financial account, which includes paying all library and parking fines,before registering. In addition to the advisor’s signature (if required by the school or program),students should obtain any other signatures required for special circumstances,such as a dean’s for overloads or the instructor’s for independent study, internships, etc.Students should consult the catalog for any prerequisites and special requirements forregistration for specific courses.Completing the registration process commits a student to the courses requested andto the corresponding fees and charges incurred. IMPORTANT: to cancel registration atany point, a student must notify the Registrar’s Office in writing before classes begin ifs/he will be unable to attend any or all of the classes for which s/he is registered. If theappropriate official form is not completed, a grade of F may be assigned, if the studentdoes not attend class.Cross-Registration<strong>Mercer</strong> <strong>University</strong> students may enroll in courses offered by member institutions of the<strong>Atlanta</strong> Regional Council for Higher Education under the cross registration arrangement ofthe Consortium, provided that they meet the academic requirements of the Council agreement.A full statement of the policy and requirements is on the Cross-Registration Formand is available in the Registrar’s Office.Students who wish to cross-register must proceed as follows:1. Obtain a <strong>University</strong> Center Cross Registration Form from the Registrar’s Office.2. Fill out the Cross Registration Form completely. The form requires the signatureof the student’s academic advisor, or the dean, and the Coordinator of CrossRegistration.3. Check the calendar on the Cross Registration Form for the date by which thecross registration form needs to be processed.4. A student must be enrolled in a course at <strong>Mercer</strong> to cross-register. The studentwill pay the tuition of <strong>Mercer</strong> for the course taken at the other institution. A refundpolicy applies if a student is unable to register at the host institution or if the studentwithdraws from the course.5. The completed form will be sent by the Coordinator of Cross Registration to thehost school for processing. Registration will be on a space-available basis andupon approval of the host institution.6. All regulations, policies, and procedures of a host institution apply to the crossregisteredstudent while enrolled there.7. Students must complete new Cross Registration Forms for any subsequent termsin which they wish to participate in the Cross Registration Program.Internal Transfer StudentsIncluded in this category are students enrolled in certain programs at <strong>Mercer</strong><strong>University</strong>’s Cecil B. Day <strong>Atlanta</strong> <strong>Campus</strong> or <strong>Mercer</strong> <strong>University</strong>’s Main <strong>Campus</strong> in Maconwho want to transfer to a <strong>Mercer</strong> <strong>University</strong> Regional Academic Center.
