Vocational Tracks in the Master of Divinity DegreeThe McAfee School of Theology offers seven tracks in conjunction with the Master ofDivinity core: Academic Research, Business Administration, Church Music, ChristianEducation, Global Christianity, Pastoral Care, and Urban Mission. All seven tracks areprograms of study designed for those students who wish to pursue a specialized area ofministry.The Academic Research Track is designed to develop the student's proficiency for theologicalresearch. Students with career goals that include further academic studies in thefields of Biblical Studies, Historical-Theological Studies, or Pastoral Studies may enter thisconcentration to develop their research skills and focus on a particular field of study. A studentmay apply for admission to the Academic Research Track after: 1) completing 24hours of M.Div. studies with a GPA of 3.5 or higher; and 2) submitting a current GraduateRecord Examination score of 550 verbal and at least 5 on the writing portion or higher.Applicants whose native language is not English must, in addition to the minimum TOEFLrequirement for admission, submit a minimum score of 5 on the TOEFL essay rating.However, they are not required to submit a GRE score.
