Specific concentrations may be offered at certain locations based ondemand. Students will be able to tailor their degree to their own professional situation byselecting one of these concentrations:• Leadership and Organizational Development and Change• Leadership for the Health Care Professional• Leadership for the Nonprofit OrganizationAdmission RequirementsAll persons who wish to enter the program must file a formal application. Minimumacademic admission requirements for the Master of Science in Organizational Leadershipare as follows:1. Students must have earned an undergraduate degree from a regionally accreditedcollege or university.2. Students must have earned a minimum overall undergraduate quality point averageof 2.75 on all work attempted and should submit two official transcripts of allcollege work attempted.3. Students must present a minimum score of 397 on the Miller Analogies Test or800 on the GRE (excluding the analytical section). Test scores must be no morethan five years old.4. Students must provide official scores on the Test of English as a ForeignLanguage (TOEFL) if English is not the applicant’s native language.5. Students must submit a Philosophy of Leadership essay or EducationalAutobiography including career goals [no more than two double-spaced, wordprocessed pages].6. Students must submit a non-refundable $25 application fee.7. Students must have at least 5 years of organizational/work experience.8. Students must submit a letter of recommendation/support from a person in thestudent’s leadership structure.9. Students must complete a formal interview with the departmental faculty.Interviews will be conducted only after potential candidates have applied foradmission and are judged qualified.Application DeadlinesStudents are accepted into the program prior to the beginning of fall and springsemesters. Admission deadline for fall semester is July 30 and for spring is November 30.Academic StandardsStudents in the Master of Science in Organizational Leadership degree program arerequired to maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (B) in all classes taken toward thedegree. If a grade below C is assigned in a graduate class, no credit is awarded for thatclass. Students cannot have more than two C/C+’s in classes counted toward the degree.Students may repeat a class only once to increase the grade earned in that class, andstudents may not re-take more than two classes in their program of study with <strong>Mercer</strong>.Students may not re-take an equivalent class at another institution in order to replace agrade earned at <strong>Mercer</strong>.264 / MERCER UNIVERSITY
