“incompletes” in consecutive semesters or on a recurring basis, he or she may be placedon probation.Repeating a CourseIf a student receives a grade of D or F, he/she may repeat the course once for credit,but only at the McAfee School of Theology; a student may not take such a course atanother school and transfer the credit to <strong>Mercer</strong>. Although all grades that a student earnsappear on the student's record, the grade received the last time the course is taken is theonly grade that is calculated into the student's cumulative grade point average.Schedule ChangesAdding and Dropping CoursesCourse changes must be completed before the add/drop deadline for the currentsemester. A student must complete and submit a Course Change Request Form to addor drop a class. Courses dropped by the deadline will not appear on a student's gradereport or permanent record.Resignation from the McAfee School of TheologyTo resign officially from <strong>Mercer</strong> <strong>University</strong>, a student must withdraw from all coursesfor which she/he is registered. A grade of W will be assigned, if the student resigns beforethe withdrawal deadline. A student resigning after the deadline will receive a grade of Ffor all courses in which he/she was enrolled in the semester of resignation, except in thecase of appropriately documented extreme personal circumstances, when a grade of Wmay be granted.Students who do not formally change their schedules, withdraw from courses,or resign from the <strong>University</strong> may be assigned a grade of F. Non-attendance doesnot constitute an official schedule change, withdrawal, or resignation.Withdrawal from CoursesA student may withdraw from a course after the add/drop deadline and before thewithdrawal deadline. The student must complete and submit a Course Change RequestForm. A grade of W will be assigned, and it will appear on the student's grade report andon his/her permanent record. Withdrawals are not used to compute grade point averages.Any student who withdraws after the withdrawal deadline or who fails to complete andsubmit the Course Change Request Form will be assigned a letter grade of F for thecourse.Student ConductAcademic HonorMutual trust is a basic component of any community. The McAfee School of Theologyexpects its students, as members of an academic and Christian community, to take theirposition in that community seriously. Students are expected to insure the continuance oftrust among themselves and between them and the faculty by accepting responsibility fortheir own work.
