YOUR SLING AND RIGGING SPECIALISTWire RopesHIGH PERFORMANCE WIRE ROPEConstructex ® is made of three differentstrand constructions: 7-wire, 24-wire and40-wire strands. The nine strands areclosed in operation and lightly swaged topostform the rope and give the strands atriangular shape. Compacting increasesstrength and resistance to crushing. The smooth outsidesurface enhances abrasion and scrubbing resistance. Constructex® can provide 1-1/2 to 2 times the service life ofother wire ropes in severely abusive applications. TypicalApplications include: tubing lines, logging lines, winch lines, boom hoists, scrap yard, mobile and overhead travelingcranes, hot bed conveyors, constRUcteX ® RoPecar haulage and ma-noMInal aPPRoX rine cargo falls.DIa. stRenGtH* Wt/ft(In.)† (tons) (lbs)5/8 25.5 .863/4 36.5 1.17/8 48.5 1.51 62.5 2.01-1/8 79.5 2.61-1/4 97.6 3.21-3/8 118.0 3.81-1/2 139.0 4.61-5/8 162.0 5.3*Acceptance strength is notless than 2-1/2% below thenominal breaking strengthslisted.†Other sizes available uponrequest.Dyform ® -6 The Dyforming process produces high densitywire rope made with compacted strands.Dyform ® -6 is a six strand construction with an IndependentWire Rope Core (IWRC). It meets or exceedsstrength requirements of EEIPS rope. The compactstrand construction provides better flexibility, bendinglife and crush resistance than standard 6-strand ropes. Compactingalso produces a smooth surfacefor reduced bearing pressure;and increases the steelarea by 100% for higher abrasionresistance and lesssheave wear.
