If heat,chemicals, crush<strong>in</strong>g or cutt<strong>in</strong>g has occurred then the damage to thefiber optic cable will destroy its ability to transmit light from one end tothe other giv<strong>in</strong>g the <strong>in</strong>spector a reason to remove the sl<strong>in</strong>g from serviceand send it for repair evaluation.
