Eldon and Marjorie Hooper are the parents of fourchildren:. . . Steven Bryant Hooper (3.6.2.1.1.1), b. January 18, 1950, San Antonio, Texas. . . Kathlyn Jean Hooper, b. May 3, 1952, Roswell, New Mexico. . . David Melvin Hooper (3.6.2.1.1.3), b. October 25, 1955, Logan, Utah. . . Michelle Ellen Hooper, b. January 14, 1957, Logan, UtahIn the spring of 1943, Eldon graduated from Gilmer High School in Gilmer,Texas. In August of 1943, he enlisted in the United States Navy and wasshipped overseas in April of 1944. Eldon served aboard an amphibious trooptransport and participated in several combat invasions in the southwest PacificOcean until the end of the war. His ship was then used to carry occupationtroops into Tokyo Bay and United States Marines and Chinese troops intonorthern China.In December of 1946, Eldon returned to United States and attended Utah StateAgricultural College in Logan, Utah. In July of 1949, Eldon entered the UnitedStates Air Force and was stationed at Randolph Air Force base near SanAntonio, Texas and then Vance Air Force Base in Enid, Oklahoma. In Augustof 1950, he was sent to Roswell, New Mexico to fly B-29 bombers. During theKorean conflict, Eldon flew C-46 transport planes in the Far East. For the nextthree years, he taught R. O. T. C. at Utah State University in Logan, Utah. InJuly of 1957, he was transferred to McConnell Air Force Base at Wichita,Kansas where he was a B-47 bomber pilot instructor. In May of 1962, he wasstationed at Altus Air Force Base in Altus, Oklahoma where he was trained asB-52 bomber pilot. Starting in the early part of 1966, he flew C-130 transportplanes in the Far East during the Viet Nam conflict. Eldon was then assignedback to B-52 aircraft at Carswell Air Force Base at Fort Worth, Texas. OnMarch 31, 1968, Eldon retired as Lieutenant Colonel.After staying in Fort Worth a few months, Eldon and his family moved back toLogan, Utah where Eldon completed his degree. In December of 1975, hepurchased the “Main Theatre” in Garland, Utah which he operated until Februaryof 1985. Kathlyn Hooper works in a doctor’s office. On September 24, 1976,Michelle Hooper married Kevan Cliff Eyre in Logan, Utah. Kevan was born onMay 7, 1953 in Logan, Utah and is the son of Howard Dean Eyre and RuthVerla (Swenson) Eyre. Kevan and Michelle Eyre are the parents of threechildren: - Brittani Mae Eyre, b. October 22, 1977, Logan, Utah, - ChelsiaDawn Eyre, b. June 25, 1980, Logan, Utah, - Athaleen Tenille Eyre, b.
