Volume 27, Page 45 of “The Bulletin of theNorthumberland County Historical Society” has execellent information on thisline. It states that Peter Thomas married Anne Cornish, daughter of JohnCornish. Peter and Anne Thomas were the parents of at least one son:. . . Rodham ThomasIt further states that Winefred Thomas was the step-brother of Rodham Thomas.It further states that Winefred Thomas married James “Revere” and that RodhamThomas “was apprenticed to James Revere.” Therefore, Peter Thomas was thefather of another child (a daughter) whose mother was not Anne Thomas (statedto be a half-brother):. . . Winefred Thomas (born ca. 1751 - based on marriage date)It further states that the estate of John Cornish listed Rodham Thomas andElizabeth Thomas as orphans of Peter Thomas. Because both are legal heirs ofJohn Cornish (father of Anne Cornish), it can be concluded that Peter Thomasand Anne Cornish were the parents of at least two children:. . . Rodham Thomas. . . It is almost certain that “Wine” Thomas (born 1753) isthe daughter of Peter Thomas that married James Revere. The year of birth(1753) provides a very good match when compared to the marriage date ofJames Revere and Winefred Thomas (1771). “Virginia Colonial Abstracts,Volume 3,” provide birthdates for children of Peter Thomas.
