In 1957, he was promoted to a District ExtensionDirector and he and Bernice moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma for his newposition. In 1961, Harold received a Doctorate of Education (EdD) fromOklahoma State University. In 1968, he was promoted to Director of Personnelfor the Oklahoma State University Extension Service and remained in thatposition until he retired in July of 1976. From July of 1976 to July of 1977,Harold was an Associate Professor in the Department of Agriculture Educationat Oklahoma State University. During this year, he was co-author of the fourhour correspondence course, “Education to Feed a Hungry World.” HaroldCasey died on January 8, 1991 and was buried in the Gracelawn Cemetery inEdmond, Oklahoma. Bernice Casey has been a volunteer worker for the HeartAssociation and for the Stillwater Municipal Hospital, where she currently worksin the Nursery. She also is an active golf player and plays bridge. Both Haroldand Bernice Casey are active genealogists. Harold, Bernice and their son,Robert, have compiled four family history books. Harold was the President ofthe Payne County Genealogical Society for many years. Bernice Casey and herson, Robert, are the authors of this book. As of 1995, Bernice (Brooks) Caseywas living at 1002 Westwood Drive, Stillwater, Oklahoma 74074.Reference: 1) Bernice (Brooks) CaseyPATRICK JON CASEY (6.1) is the son of Harold Casey and Bernice (Brooks)Casey. Pat was born on July 5, 1943 in Elk City, Beckham County, Oklahoma.At the time of his birth, Bernice was living with her parents and Harold was inthe navy stationed at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida. AfterHarold left the service in 1946, Pat lived with his parents in Guthrie, Oklahomauntil 1957 when they moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma. Pat graduated fromStillwater High School in 1961 and attended Oklahoma State University for twoyears. Later, Pat attended the University of Oklahoma located in Norman,Oklahoma. On February 24, 1967, Pat Casey married Ellen Kay Webster in
