La Nell was born on June 30, 1932 in Kelsey,Texas. Because her mother was ill, La Nell lived her early childhood with hergrandparents until she was about six years old when her father moved her andher brothers to Wyoming. From the age of nine to twelve, La Nell lived withher other grandparents in Arizona. She then moved to Ogden, Utah andgraduated from Ogden High School. On March 23, 1950, La Nell Hoopermarried Norman Lowell Clark in Ogden, Utah. Norman was born on May 4,1921 in Etna, Wyoming and is the son of Markus John Clark and Clara Ellen(Thompson) Clark.
