Lelia went to work at Independence, Missourifor President Samuel O. Bennion and his wife, Charlotte, at the Central StatesMission Home. She worked there as a cook and housekeeper. Lelia laterworked as a proof reader for Zions Printing and Publishing Company. OnDecember 31, 1934, Lelia Bryant married Emmett Perry Johnson.
