In June of 1974, Robert received a Master of Science degree inElectrical Engineering and Computer Science and moved to Austin, Texas whereRobert was employed by International Business Machines. On May 27, 1977,Robert and Debbie Casey were divorced. From March of 1976 to September of1979, Robert Casey lived north of Austin near Pflugerville, Texas. In Septemberof 1979, Robert moved back into Austin. From July of 1974 to October of1981, Robert was involved in the design and development of word processingsystems. He has participated in the design of the Office System 6, the 5520Administrative System and the Displaywriter on which this book was created.In October of 1981, Robert moved to Carrollton, Texas and to Dallas, Texas inJune of 1984, where he supported the marketing of large I. B. M. dataprocessing systems.On March 2, 1985, Robert Casey married Diane Marie Thede in Dallas, Texas.Diane was born on August 7, 1957 in Battle Creek, Michigan and is the daughterof Kenneth Alfred Thede (born 1922 in Michigan) and Eleanor June (Santelman)Thede (born 1932 in Michigan). Diane received a Bachelor of BusinessAdministration from Texas Christian University in 1980 and worked for sevenyears for several advertising companies, her last position was an accountexecutive for the Popejoy and Fischel advertising agency. In 1987, Diane leftthe advertising business to become a full time homemaker. Robert and DianeCasey are the parents of two sons:. . . Jordan Brooks Casey, b. May 20, 1987, Dallas, Texas. . . Bryan William Casey, b. May 26, 1989, Dallas, TexasIn October of 1989, Robert and his family moved to Austin, Texas and hascontinued to work for I. B. M. in various marketing and service positions.Robert and Diane have been very active in scouts and Robert coached soccerteams for several years. Robert is an active genealogist and has been a leader inthe Genealogy Special Interest Group of the Central Texas PC Users Group inAustin, Texas.
