Backing up AIX JFS2 extended attributesAIX Enhanced Journal File System (JFS2) provides backup processing for namedextended attributes (EA) for all file systems that support named extendedattributes. These extended attributes will automatically be backed up with eachobject that has extended attributes data, and no additional action is required. The only file system that supports named user extended attributes is JFS2, whenthe file system is defined with the v2 format. This support is provided for files anddirectories. Support is not provided for extended attributes on symbolic links.Displaying backup processing statusDuring a backup, by default Tivoli Storage Manager displays the status of each fileit attempts to back up. Tivoli Storage Manager reports the file’s size, path, filename, total number of bytes transferred, and whether the backup attempt wassuccessful.
