Associating a local snapshot with a server file spaceUse the snapshotroot option with the selective comm<strong>and</strong> in conjunction with athird-party application that provides a snapshot of a logical volume, to associatethe data on the local snapshot with the real file space data that is stored on the<strong>Tivoli</strong> <strong>Storage</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> server. The snapshotroot option does not provide anyfacilities to take a volume snapshot, only to manage data created by a volumesnapshot.AIX only: You can per<strong>for</strong>m a snapshot-based selective backup by specifying theoption snapshotproviderfs=JFS2.Set AccessThe set access comm<strong>and</strong> gives users at other nodes access to your backup versionsor archived copies.You can also use the set access comm<strong>and</strong> to give users at other nodes access toyour backup images.You can give another user access to a specific file or image, multiple files orimages, or all files in a directory. When you give access to another user, that usercan restore or retrieve your objects.
