If you are upgrading from a previous version of the Tivoli Storage Manager AIXclient, use SMIT to remove any national language filesets that might be installed,and install the national language filesets provided with Tivoli Storage Manager 6.1.You cannot perform an upgrade install from the Tivoli Storage Manager Version 5.5or earlier client to the Tivoli Storage Manager Version 6.1 64-bit client. You mustremove the older 32-bit client before installing the Tivoli Storage Manager Version6.1 64-bit client.All of the needed packages are included in the Tivoli Storage Manager AIX clientpackage, and they overwrite any older runtime applications on your system duringinstallation. LibC (C Set ++ ® ) runtime is required.When using the installp command to install this client, do not change the defaultfield values for the following two choices:v ″AUTOMATICALLY install requisite software?″v ″OVERWRITE same or newer versions?″Disabling or changing the values will allow a lower level Tivoli Storage Managercomponent to install over a currently higher installed component.
