CENSUS RESULTSThe area planted per Irish potatoes growing farm isgreater in Kilimanjaro (9.8 hectares per farm)followed by Iringa (7.3 hectares per farm). Theregions with comparatively moderate planted areaper farm are Tabora <strong>and</strong> Tanga while Dar esSalaam <strong>and</strong> Manyara had the smallest planted areaper farm. Other regions didn’t plant Irish potatoes(Chart 2.43)2.5.6 Pulse crop productionThe total production of pulses was 14,788 tonnes.The production of beans is higher than any otherpulse crop in large scale farms with a totalproduction of 8,724 tonnes representing 59 percentthe total pulse production followed by seed beanswith total production of 5,102 tonnes (35%).
