CENSUS RESULTS37On large scale farms, Iringa has the highestpercent of farms with these facilities (79% of thetotal large scale farms) followed by Kigoma(47%), Mara (41%), Manyara (37%), Mwanza<strong>and</strong> Rukwa with 36 percent each. Regions withthe lowest proportion of total farms practicingerosion control include Dar es Salaam, Kagera<strong>and</strong> Mtwara. No erosion control or waterharvesting facilities found in Lindi (large scalefarms), (Chart 2.84).2.8.1 Type of erosion control / waterharvesting structureErosion control bunds are the most commonstructure on large scale farms (6,729 structures or22% of the total number of erosion control/waterharvesting structures). This is followed by Treebelts (20%), Water harvesting bunds (16%), (Chart2.85).Iringa has the largest number of erosion controlstructures with 11,806 structures (39.4%)followed Manyara with 3,562 erosion controlstructures (11.9%) <strong>and</strong> Morogoro with 2,768structures (9.2%). Small numbers of erosioncontrol structures were found in Shinyanga, Dares Salaam, Mtwara, Coast, Kagera <strong>and</strong> Lindi(Chart 2.86).2.9 Sheds <strong>and</strong> StoresSheds <strong>and</strong> stores on large scale farms includemachinery sheds, fertilizer stores, agrochemicalstores <strong>and</strong> produce stores.
