Connecting Optical CablesConnecting Optical CablesFiber Fish ToolWARNING:Unterminated fiber cables and connectors may emit invisible laser radiation.Avoid direct exposure to the laser light source. Ensure that the fiber cable isterminated before "fishing."The Fiber Fish tool that was shipped with the <strong>Prisma</strong> <strong>II</strong> Chassis is used to pull anoptical cable from the rear of the chassis to the front of the chassis so the opticalcables can be connected to optical connectors on the front panel of the modules.Fiber Fish Tool HookAt the end of the Fiber Fish tool is a small hook that allows you to hold an opticalcable so that you can pull it through to the front panel of the chassis.To Pull the Optical Cable to the Module1 Insert the Fiber Fish tool through the slot located just above the bottom of thechassis.2 At the rear of the chassis, locate the appropriate optical cable.3 Insert the optical cable into the notched area of the Fiber Fish tool as shownbelow.4 At the front of the chassis, pull the Fiber Fish tool (with cable attached) to thefront of the chassis.78-4037880-01 Rev B 35
