Review the importance of reducing cardiovascular
risk factors.
Educate patients about the benefits of diet and
exercise in improving lipid levels and reducing
cardiovascular risk.
If lipid-lowering medications are prescribed, advise
patients on possible adverse effects, and advise them
to call the clinic if these develop.
