This suggests that many of the articlescited by the actuarial journal group (presumably actuarial articles)have a more lasting influence than do the articles cited bythe risk and insurance journal group (presumably the risk andinsurance articles).3 Three to four years appears to be the time lag between when an article is published andwhen it is read, incorporated into future research, and referenced in a published article.This would explain the apparent significance of the articles published between 1992 and1997 when reviewing articles published from 1996 to 2000.
