<strong>15</strong>8 MINUTES OF THE <strong>2005</strong> SPRING MEETINGMr. D’Arcy commented that “seasoned” members have muchto offer the profession, and that the CAS could do more to getthem (or keep them) involved in the organization as they movetoward and into retirement. He then told the audience about thepossible formation of a special interest section to serve the needsof retired members, and asked that anyone interested in volunteeringor learning more about the Retirees Special Interest Section tocontact either Melanie Pennington, chairperson of the RegionalAffiliates Committee, or Todd Rogers at the CAS office.Vice President–Professional Education Beth Fitzgerald thengave an overview of the meeting. Ms. Fitzgerald first recognizedmeeting supporters D. W. Simpson and Company Select <strong>Actuarial</strong>Services as well as meeting exhibitors Milliman, Towers Perrin,and the <strong>Actuarial</strong> Foundation. She encouraged attendees to visittheir displays in the registration area.Ms. Fitzgerald noted that there will be two Proceedings paperspresented at this meeting, as well as two discussion papers on thetopic “Primer on Enterprise Risk Management.”In concluding her presentation, Ms. Fitzgerald complimentedand thanked chairperson Patrick Woods and the Program PlanningCommittee, along with CAS Meeting Planner Kathy Spicerand other members of the CAS office staff for coordinating themeeting.Following these announcements, the new CAS Fellows andAssociates in attendance were honored in a special ceremony.The CAS admitted 43 new Fellows and 22 new Associates in<strong>May</strong> <strong>2005</strong>. Thomas G. Myers, Vice President–Admissions, announcedthe new Associates and Paul Braithwaite, President-Elect,announced the new Fellows. The names of the members of theSpring <strong>2005</strong> class follow.
