REPORT OF THE VICE PRESIDENT—ADMINISTRATION 781The Journal (which is not yet named) is a peerreviewedjournal published by the <strong>Casualty</strong> <strong>Actuarial</strong><strong>Society</strong> to disseminate work of interest to casualtyactuaries worldwide. The Journal’s focus is originalpractical and theoretical research in casualty actuarialscience. Significant survey or similar articles are alsoconsidered for publication. Membership in the <strong>Casualty</strong><strong>Actuarial</strong> <strong>Society</strong> is not a prerequisite for submittingpapers to the Journal and submission by non-CASmembers is encouraged.Publication of the Forum and the Proceedings of the <strong>Casualty</strong><strong>Actuarial</strong> <strong>Society</strong> provides significant means for the advancementof the body of actuarial science. The <strong>2005</strong> winter, spring, andfall volumes of the Forum focus on ratemaking, reinsurance, andresearch working party papers, respectively. The Proceedings includepapers exploring many different subjects–from modelingfinancial scenarios to estimating the workers compensation tail.The CAS also approved $9,500 in funding from the CAS ResearchFund for a <strong>Society</strong> of Actuaries Committee on KnowledgeExtension Research (CKER) grant proposal. Vytaras Brazauskasof the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee proposed the study,“Robust and Efficient Methods for Credibility.” The study willdevelop reliable credibility estimators that are designed to performwell under realistic model assumptions. The CAS Committeeon Theory of Risk (COTOR) reviewed the project andconcluded that the research represents groundbreaking work ofgreat interest to CAS members. COTOR will also oversee theproject.With an eye on promoting actuarial science concepts to awider business audience, the Enterprise Risk Management TaskForce was charged with implementing an ERM process for theCAS as an example of ERM best practices. Once the ERM studyis completed, it could be made the basis of an article in the associationmanagement press. This study would include quantifying
