MINUTES OF THE <strong>2005</strong> CAS SPRING MEETINGSunday, <strong>May</strong> <strong>15</strong>, <strong>2005</strong><strong>May</strong> <strong>15</strong>–<strong>18</strong>, <strong>2005</strong>POINTE SOUTH MOUNTAIN RESORTPHOENIX, ARIZONAThe CAS board of directors met from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Registration was held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.An officers’ reception for new Associates and accompanyingpersons was held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.A welcome reception for all attendees was held from 6:30 p.m.to 7:30 p.m.Monday, <strong>May</strong> <strong>16</strong>, <strong>2005</strong>Registration continued from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.CAS President Stephen D’Arcy opened the business session at8:00 a.m., welcoming all to the CAS Spring Meeting and announcingthat the morning’s events would be Webcast over the CAS WebSite. President D’Arcy introduced the current members of the CASExecutive Council (EC) and the CAS Board of Directors.Mr. D’Arcy introduced special guests and the past presidents ofthe CAS attending the meeting including Robert A. Anker (1996),Irene K. Bass (1993), Ronald L. Bornhuetter (1975), David G.Hartman (1987), Allan M. Kaufman (1994), C. K. “Stan” Khury(1984), Steven G. Lehmann (1998), Mary Frances Miller (2004),and Gail M. Ross (2002).Mr. D’Arcy asked that all Fellows and Associates who havebeen CAS members for 25 years or more and all CAS volunteersstand to be recognized. Mr. D’Arcy also recognized those individualswho have worked on the American Academy of Actuaries’committees or committees of other actuarial organizations.<strong>15</strong>7
