This kowtowing to the victorious Allies of World War II cannotgo on forever!” With the following words tears came to his eyes:“Why should a man be put to the sword to keep alive this mythology ofwartime propaganda? Mr. State Attorney, you should not continue believingnovels that become ever more lurid with the passage of time. Itcannot go on like this, to leave one’s own people standing out in thecold. Please allow the introduction of evidence once more.” Thus thedefense attorney closed his pleading.The General’s closing words“To this kangaroo court that has denied me the introduction ofscientific evidence I have only one thing to say.” General Remerpointed at the state attorney and the judge. “Germany will one day holdyou responsible for what you have done in this courtroom.”ResumeGeneral Remer seems to be dangerous to the former victoriouspowers because he has brought about a discussion of Auschwitz withhis scientific publications. If Remer can prove his case, the Allies willlose their justification for having butchered and looted the Germanpeople. The Jews will lose, as Prof. Wolffsohn says, “their only remainingidentity-forming myth.” For these reasons, General Remer iscondemned to die in jail. This death sentence is reminiscent of othercases of unsolved deaths such as those of Franz Josef Strauß and hiswife Marianne. First Marianne died of unexplained causes in a trafficaccident, then the fit, healthy former Minister President of Bavariapassed away under unusual circumstances which are not medically explicable.The Allgemeing Jüdische Wochenzeitung (German Jewish weeklynewspaper) of October 29, 1992, recalled Strauß’ goals: “The declarationof Franz J. Strauß on February 1, 1987, that the Federal Republicshould come out from under the shadow of the Nazi past and begin anew chapter in the book of history...”The transfer treaty of the victorious powers forbids Germany to“come out from under the shadow of the Nazi past and begin a newchapter in the book of history”.
