AbstractIsadora Duncan was a dancer, choreographer, educator and revolutionary.Renewed the way to dance with her own style, expressing through her bodyand natural movements, inspired in the arts of classical Greece, in mythology,the music scholar, in poetry, in phil<strong>os</strong>ophy and in nature.Her dance was a homage to the beauty, freedom and the divine; worn withtunics fluidic, bare feet and lo<strong>os</strong>e hair, restored the Dance giving it a newvitality.Through its Art she was bring freedom to all. She was <strong>no</strong>t fan the Aca<strong>de</strong>micDance, wrote criticis about classical ballet, claiming to be a genre false andabsurd.This study aimed to analyze the phe<strong>no</strong>me<strong>no</strong>n Isadora Duncan, with eyesfocused on the reasons that lead her to <strong>de</strong>ny the classical ballet andgymnastics, creating her "free dance", and linking its hand with the Fitness. Themethodology followed in the steps of the Qualitative Research with aphe<strong>no</strong>me<strong>no</strong>logical approach-hermeneutics. The readings focused biographies,media and aca<strong>de</strong>mic literature texts.The hand of Isadora Duncan and physical education are presented in the formof images, promoting a dialogue between Isadora Duncan and instantscaptured of few stu<strong>de</strong>nts in the classes of Physical Education.
