Panorama Artwork in <strong>Leipzig</strong><br />

The artist Yadegar Asisi from Berlin has installed the world’s largest<br />

360° panoramic painting in a former gasometer, accompanied by<br />

lighting and sound effects. Following on from the previous paintings<br />

(“AMAZONIA”, “Rome 312” and “8848 Everest 360˚”) there will be a<br />

new exhibition for <strong>2013</strong>: “<strong>Leipzig</strong> 1813 – In the Turmoil of the Battle of<br />

the Nations”.<br />

Animal Magic in <strong>Leipzig</strong><br />

Visit <strong>Leipzig</strong>’s Zoological Garden, one of the oldest and most varied<br />

zoos in the world, and one of the most popular destinations in the<br />

city. The animal enclosures here resemble the animals’ natural<br />

environment and are appropriate for each species so that a visit to<br />

the zoo becomes an adventure safari with many exciting encounters.<br />

There is no other zoo, for example, where great apes have more<br />

space to themselves than here and be sure to take a look at the impressive<br />

“elephant’s temple” too! The Gondwanaland giant tropical<br />

art collections in Germany. Experience the fascination of art on a tour<br />

that takes in the works of Max Klinger, Caspar David Friedrich, Claude<br />

Monet and many others. After many years of renovation, the GRASSI<br />

Museum of Applied Arts is exhibiting a collection of over 2,500 years<br />

of art history, displayed in over 30 exhibition rooms, in its permanent<br />

exhibition “Antiquity to Historism”.<br />
