The artist Yadegar Asisi from Berlin has installed the world’s largest
360° panoramic painting in a former gasometer, accompanied by
lighting and sound effects. Following on from the previous paintings
(“AMAZONIA”, “Rome 312” and “8848 Everest 360˚”) there will be a
new exhibition for 2013: “Leipzig 1813 – In the Turmoil of the Battle of
the Nations”.

Animal Magic in Leipzig
Visit Leipzig’s Zoological Garden, one of the oldest and most varied
zoos in the world, and one of the most popular destinations in the
city. The animal enclosures here resemble the animals’ natural
environment and are appropriate for each species so that a visit to
the zoo becomes an adventure safari with many exciting encounters.
There is no other zoo, for example, where great apes have more
space to themselves than here and be sure to take a look at the impressive
“elephant’s temple” too! The Gondwanaland giant tropical
building enhances Leipzig Zoo with yet another wonderful attraction.

Art Journey to Leipzig
Leipzig Museum of Fine Arts houses one of the most important civil
art collections in Germany. Experience the fascination of art on a tour
that takes in the works of Max Klinger, Caspar David Friedrich, Claude
Monet and many others. After many years of renovation, the GRASSI
Museum of Applied Arts is exhibiting a collection of over 2,500 years
of art history, displayed in over 30 exhibition rooms, in its permanent
exhibition “Antiquity to Historism”.
