Wagner lovers and those who want to find out more about<br />
the young Wagner should come to <strong>Leipzig</strong> in <strong>2013</strong>. That’s<br />
when the city celebrates the 200 th birthday of the great<br />
composer, who was born here in <strong>Leipzig</strong>. The programme includes numerous concerts and<br />
opera performances, a top-class week-long music festival in May and the opening of the<br />
Richard Wagner Exhibition in the Old St. Nicholas School on 21 May <strong>2013</strong>. To ensure that<br />
the composer continues to be honoured in the city of his birth, a contemporary monument<br />
by the sculptor Stephan Balkenhol will also be formally unveiled. Please refer also to our<br />
