Bayerischer Bahnhof was built in 1842 and is one of the landmarks of Leipzig. Today, the
oldest surviving railhead is the top address for great culinary experiences and, as a brewery,
home to the Gose and other home-brewed beers. Every room has its own atmosphere: the
“Biersiederei” with the brewer‘s copper, the cosy “Gosestube”, the “Schalander” as a reminiscence
to past brewery days, the “Arkaden” with their conservatory atmosphere and the large
beer garden idyllically situated in the shade of old plane trees.
Napoleon and King Murrat of Naples planned their retreat in 1813. The establishment became
a brewery in 1997 and now offers not only home-brewed beer and delicious food under the
historic vaulted ceiling, but also guided tours of the brewery: learn more about the production
district in 1898, 1.3 km north of the city centre. “Gose”, the traditional cult Leipzig beer, has
been served here in its original Gose mixture since 1986. Everything exudes “Old Leipzig”
history: the ancient cosy historical restaurant, the rustic beer cellars, the traditional club room
and the large beer garden with old trees and BBQ grill. Gose is not the only thing on offer;
enjoy cheap, home-made “Alt Leipziger” and “fresh seasonal” cooking. Tourist groups will have
Have a feast in “the city’s most beautiful house”.
Decorously stewed dishes, Saxon specialities and all kinds of Ratskeller original dishes served
in a total of seven cosy rooms in the rustic vaulted cellar of the Ratskeller in Leipzig. In the
process, the creative Ratskeller kitchen team in “the city’s most beautiful house”, the New City
Hall, establishes a very excellent connection between Saxon tradition and modern lightness,
which you should definitely taste.
The oldest traditional restaurant (since 1454) is a must for every Leipzig visitor. This is where
Martin Luther liked to eat and drink. Thüringer Hof is the right place to celebrate for the young
and young at heart – be it in the historic “Luthersaal” (200 seats) or the courtyard covered by
a glass roof (40 seats). Monthly-varying specialities, a varied bus menu, delicious set meals for
groups, Thuringian sausage or Sauerbraten pot roast – Saxon and Thuringian cuisine has many
delicacies to offer.
