Leipzig has the highest density of cabaret clubs
per head of population in Germany and relishes its
reputation as the “cabaret capital” of Germany.
Numerous cabarets, cabaret theatres and variety
shows have their audiences in fits of laughter and
gasping in wonder evening after evening. The annual
high point is the LACHMESSE comedy festival,
Germany’s largest cabaret and small-scale art festival.
Be inspired by the biting political satire, accurate
political points and reckless acrobatics.
One programme daily. In 1966 when Leipzig University’s student
cabaret club was founded, the “academixer” were the primitive
rocks of the scene. The 250-seat venue is one of the loveliest
cabaret clubs in Germany.

The Leipzig Pfeffermühle (Pepper Mill) is one of the oldest traditional
cabarets in Saxony. The cabaret has been entertaining its audience
with topical and highly explosive political satire since 1954. A varied
programme is rounded off by guest performances from Germanspeaking
cabaret artists.

aka Conny Weidner from the successful TV series “Tierärztin Dr. Mertens”,
will have your grey brain cells turning somersaults in one of the seven
