GLASS REINFORCED POLYESTER LAMINATE<br />

F.1.1.1 This appendix describes an example of a fairly complete set of data for a glass reinforced polyester<br />

laminate.<br />

F.1.1.2 Many glass reinforced materials will be similar to this example and can be qualified according to Sec.4<br />

[8.6] - Qualification against representative data. The fibre dominated properties should be applicable to most<br />

E-glass reinforced laminates, matrix dominated properties may change considerably when changing the resin<br />

system.<br />

F.1.1.3 The fibre dominated fatigue properties in [F.4.2] can be used for all E-glass laminates as long as some<br />

fibres are oriented in the load direction.<br />

F.1.1.4 Representative data for other materials can be measured and used like this example, as long as the<br />

requirements given in Sec.4 [8.5] and [8.6] are fulfilled.<br />

F.1.1.5 There is a lack of data for matrix dominated properties and of properties in water. Properties in other<br />

fluids are not listed, since only few and specific data exist. If such properties are needed some qualification<br />

testing may be required.<br />
