Qualification Aim<br />

This competence-based qualification<br />

is designed for those working in<br />

cleaning and support services. Its<br />

purpose is to provide accreditation to<br />

those able to demonstrate<br />

competence against the occupational<br />

standards defined for cleaning and<br />

support services at this level. It’s a<br />

job-ready qualification which requires<br />

learners to demonstrate, in the<br />

workplace, the skills and knowledge<br />

required in the cleaning industry.<br />

This qualification is aimed at<br />

specialist cleaners, those looking<br />

for continuous pr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />

development or those who clean as<br />

part <strong>of</strong> their job role.<br />

This qualification also forms the<br />

competence-based aspect <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Intermediate Apprenticeship in<br />

Cleaning and Environmental Support<br />

Services (Cleaning and Support<br />

Services Pathway).<br />

Qualification Structure<br />

This qualification consists <strong>of</strong> 3<br />

mandatory units and 18 optional units.<br />

To be awarded this qualification,<br />

learners must successfully complete<br />

the 3 units from mandatory Group<br />

A plus a minimum <strong>of</strong> 2 credits from<br />

Group B, and a minimum <strong>of</strong> 9 and<br />

maximum <strong>of</strong> 15 credits from Group C.<br />
