Qualification Aim<br />

Functional Skills are practical skills<br />

developed by the regulators that<br />

allow individuals to work confidently,<br />

effectively and independently,<br />

and help learners improve their<br />

performance in a variety <strong>of</strong> contexts.<br />

These qualifications develop and<br />

assess functional English at Entry<br />

Levels 1, 2 and 3 as set out by the Entry<br />

Level Functional Skills standards.<br />

These qualifications encourage<br />

learners to demonstrate their<br />

speaking, listening and<br />

communication, reading and<br />

writing skills, and give them the<br />

opportunity to develop and transfer<br />

these skills to their own situation.<br />
