Qualification Aim<br />

This qualification aims to provide<br />

learners with the knowledge<br />

needed to work in a higher level<br />

role within the retail sector<br />

covering selling, service, team<br />

working, health and safety, dealing<br />

with theft, and product knowledge.<br />

Covering a variety <strong>of</strong> specific<br />

product areas, it’s ideal for learners<br />

already working in the retail sector<br />

looking to progress, or for those<br />

looking to work in the sector who’d<br />

like to increase their knowledge.<br />

This qualification also forms the<br />

knowledge-based aspect <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Qualification Aim<br />

This qualification aims to provide an<br />

introduction to the retail industry for<br />

those new to or seeking employment<br />

in this area. It will help learners<br />

develop an understanding <strong>of</strong><br />

different aspects <strong>of</strong> working in the<br />

retail sector and prepare them for<br />

progression into a range <strong>of</strong> higher<br />

level and more practical qualifications<br />

within the retail sector.<br />

Qualification Structure<br />

This qualification consists <strong>of</strong> 6<br />

mandatory units and 14 optional<br />

units.<br />

To be awarded this qualification,<br />

learners must successfully complete<br />

the 6 mandatory units and at least 4<br />

credits from the optional units.<br />

Learners may also take units from<br />

the third unit group, but these units<br />

(not graded) will not count towards<br />

the achievement <strong>of</strong> the qualification.<br />
