The Directory of Products and Services is designed
to help support you with your curriculum planning,
as well as to help you find out just what NCFE has
to offer. Of course we’re always working to develop
more wonderful qualifications. With this in mind

Our subject
areas include:
Preparation for Life and Work
In these challenging times, it’s vital we all
have the right skills to gain employment
and improve our career prospects. The
qualifications within this sector provide
learners with the skills and knowledge
needed to progress into further study and
employment. They equip learners with the
right skills and mindset to enter the labour
market and ultimately help them to secure
a job. In addition to over 100 bitesize maths
and English qualifications and our suite of
Functional Skills, this sector includes the
flagship Employability qualifications, offered
by The REED NCFE Partnership.
Health, Public Services and Care
We’ve a variety of qualifications in health
care which provide learners with a range of
sector related skills and knowledge. Where
appropriate, qualifications are mapped
against National Occupational Standards
or National Workforce Competences for
their related subject area.
Within Public Services, we have our
Uniformed Services qualifications to prepare
learners for progression to employment in
the armed forces or emergency services.
Arts, Media and Publishing
The qualifications in this sector provide a
framework of vocational training for learners
already working in, or hoping to work in,
the growing media and performing arts
industry. NCFE’s Creative Craft qualifications
and Certificates in Art and Design are
designed to give learners the opportunity
to develop their creativity and craft skills.
The qualifications focus on technical skills
and personal development, whilst giving
an overall insight into the creative industry.
Interactive Media and Graphic Design
qualifications provide learners with the
underpinning knowledge and skills required
by today’s creative industries.
Leisure, Travel and Tourism
The qualifications within this sector cover
travel, tourism, leisure and recreation.
They aim to equip learners with the skills
they need to gain employment within these
industries. Many of NCFE’s sport related
qualifications have been supported by
SkillsActive (the SSC for the Active Leisure,
learning and Well-Being sector).
Business, Administration and Law
We’ve a range of qualifications within this
sector which equip learners with those
essential business skills they need for the
workplace. These qualifications have been
developed with and supported by Standards
Setting Bodies such as the Council for
Administration (CfA) and the Institute of
Customer Service (ICS). Our qualifications
are at the core of Apprenticeships, and are
suitable for a wide range of occupations at a
variety of levels.
Education and Training
When developing qualifications in this
sector, NCFE has paid particular attention
to recent Government initiatives and all
approved standards. Childcare-related
qualifications are designed to support
the National Childcare Strategy, Raising
Standards initiatives, Day Care Standards,
National Occupational Standards and
Ofsted requirements.
Retail and Commercial Enterprise
Qualifications within this sector aim to help
learners gain employment and expand a
range of skills and knowledge required in
the modern workplace. They’re ideal not
only for learners aiming to improve their
career prospects, but also for those who
wish to enhance their on-the-job skills.
Many of the qualifications offered within
this sector can be used alongside full-time
Study Programmes, allowing specialisation
in areas of particular interest.
