In Tip #3, we talked about targeting people based on the specific page they visited. But what if you want to exclude people from your targeting<br />
based on the pages they’ve visited?<br />
EXCLUDING AN ENTIRE CUSTOM AUDIENCE<br />
Here’s an example in action for promoting Tip #3…<br />
Here’s a brief summary of how I made this experiment work…<br />
1. Show invitation ad to wide audience (Exclude opt-outs and<br />
those who already read the invitation page)<br />
2. Show opt-out ad to same wide audience<br />
3. Show Tip #1 to those who viewed the invitation page<br />
(Exclude opt-outs and those who already read this tip)<br />
4. Show Tip #2 to those who viewed Tip #1 (Exclude opt-outs<br />
and those who already read this tip)<br />
5. Show Tip #3 to those who viewed Tip #2 (Exclude opt-outs<br />
and those who already read this tip)<br />
6. Show Tip #4 to those who viewed Tip #3 (Exclude opt-outs<br />
and those who already read this tip)<br />
And so on…<br />
In the example above, I targeted only those people who read Tip<br />
#2 during the past 14 days while excluding those who read either<br />
the opt-out request or Tip #3 during the past 180 days.<br />
I targeted those who read Tip #2 for a 14 day duration because<br />
I figured if they haven’t clicked my ad within 14 days, they no<br />
longer wanted to participate. I also wanted to allow as much time<br />
as possible for people to have the ad served to them. There<br />
