Sky Q Hub<br />
This is the broadcaster’s new router and<br />
comes with built-in powerline networking<br />
technology, so it can use your home’s<br />
electrical wiring and Wi-Fi to communicate<br />
with Sky Q boxes (not compatible with<br />
other powerline products).<br />
The Sky Q Hub can turn Sky Q boxes into<br />
Wi-Fi hotspots where they sit around the<br />
home for better coverage. It supports 5GHz<br />
11ac Wi-Fi with 3x3 MIMO, as well as 2GHz<br />
11.n with 2x2 MIMO.<br />
Sky Q app<br />
The Sky Q app will allow you to take your<br />
recordings from the Sky Q box out of the<br />
house with you. You’ll also be able to use the<br />
app to live stream content around the home.<br />
Sky specifies that these features are for<br />
tablets, so it seems that this won’t work for<br />
phones, at least initially.<br />
Touch remote and new interface<br />
The new Sky Q touch remote allows you<br />
to scroll and swipe with a touchpad. It also<br />
connects via Bluetooth, so you don’t need<br />
line-of-sight for it to work.<br />
An entirely new service and set of<br />
hardware wouldn’t be complete without<br />
Top Picks and My Q. There are, of course,<br />
sections such as Recordings.<br />

tablet. It also lets you easily find and watch<br />

You can also use the new software to<br />
search across multiple areas. One search<br />
will look across live, recorded and ondemand<br />
content in one go. It will also suggest similar<br />
