Course: AAT Level 3 – Diploma in Accounting<br />
Advanced Learner Loans (formerly the 24+ Advanced Learning<br />
Loan) have now been expanded to people aged 19 and over who<br />
want to complete a Level 3 or 4 course. The loan is to fund the<br />
tuition fees for study of qualification courses. Repayments don’t<br />
start until you start to earn more than £21,000 a year.<br />

Joanne secured a loan of £1900 to fund her diploma. She found the application ‘simple and straightforward’ and the loan<br />
covered her full course fee.<br />
‘I did not have the money to be able to take this course and couldn’t believe there were such loans available for ‘mature’<br />
students. This has given me the opportunity to do something I have always wanted to do.’<br />
Joanne is aiming to go on to take her Level 4 qualification and to be a self-employed accountant.<br />

Khansa successfully applied for an Advanced Learner<br />
Loan for £3022 to help to fund her Access to Higher<br />
Education course.<br />
‘The process was easy and straightforward and the loan<br />
has enabled me to receive good quality teaching and<br />
access to resources. I have accepted a place at Leeds<br />
Beckett University to study a BA in Sociology in<br />
September <strong>2016</strong>.’<br />
