This course introduces you to core IT skills and applications commonly used in many businesses. You will develop your<br />
understanding and capabilities in areas including spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software. This will<br />
help you gain the skills and knowledge needed to improve your job or future employability prospects with a qualification<br />
that is recognised around the world. From this course you could progress on to the IT User Skills ECDL Level 2 Award.<br />

‘I chose to do this course at <strong>Shipley</strong> <strong>College</strong> as I needed the qualifications to help me work towards<br />
a career in Social Work. The information learnt has allowed me to gain skills needed for a support<br />
working job, such as putting documents in to report format. Also, the skills learnt are great for office<br />

This qualification is designed to improve your knowledge and confidence in using essential Microsoft Office programmes<br />
used in many job roles across all types of businesses. It is perfect if you are looking to improve your career prospects<br />
as it will teach you how to work more effectively and efficiently in the office, particularly with computer systems.<br />
This is an intermediate course, therefore you will need to have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and some<strong>time</strong>s<br />
is a progression from the IT User Skills ECDL Level 1 Award. From this course you may wish to progress on to IT User<br />

‘I chose this course so I could expand my knowledge and skills after completing the Level 1. I am currently<br />
learning about Computerised Accounting where I have had the opportunity to learn about and apply my<br />
new found abilities. The course is well taught and is a no pressure, relaxed environment to learn in.<br />
The staff are friendly, flexible and <strong>Shipley</strong> <strong>College</strong> is easy for me to get to from home.’<br />
