‘I chose the AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting Level 2 course because it was a good stepping
stone to get into Accounting. I’m working at a Tax Firm in Leeds and all the work I do in College links to my
job, plus it’s really interesting! The tutors help to portray the work and present the information in a way
that is clear and easy to understand. I like coming to College because of the environment that it’s in and
there is a wide range of friendly people that attend here. I would recommend the course because it gives
you basic knowledge and an understanding of Accounting.’
AAT ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN ACCOUNTING LEVEL 3 (DAYTIME & EVENING)
Level 3 Entitlement (or 19+ Advanced Learner Loan) may apply to you
On this course you will study six units and to achieve this qualification you will need to successfully complete four unit
assessments and one synoptic assessment. All assessments are set and marked by the AAT and are computer based.
The units are: Advanced Book-keeping, Final Accounts Preparation, Management Accounting: Costing, Indirect Tax, Ethics
for Accountants, Spreadsheets for Accounting. The synoptic assessment will cover all of the topics covered in all of the
six units and the assessments are 2 to 3 hours long.

or over then you may be able to apply for a 19+ Advanced Learner Loan.

PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA IN ACCOUNTING LEVEL 4 (DAYTIME & EVENING)
19+ Advanced Learner Loan may apply to you
On this course you will study three compulsory units and two optional units. You will need to successfully complete unit
assessments in all five units and successfully complete one synoptic assessment to achieve this qualification. All units
will be assessments are set and marked by the AAT and are computer based. The compulsory units are: Financial
Statements of Limited Companies, Management Accounting – Budgeting and Management Accounting – Decision and
Control. The synoptic assessment will cover all of the topics covered in the three compulsory units as well as Accounting
Systems and Controls. In addition you will need to complete 2 optional units. PLEASE NOTE – Shipley College will not be
offering all 5 optional units, we will most likely be offering Credit Management and Personal Tax. All assessments are
2 to 3 hours long. If you are aged 19 or over then you may be able to apply for a 19+ Advanced Learner Loan.
