This course is the recognised qualification for people working in the Childcare sector with children and young people
You must be 18 or over to enrol and must have recently completed a minimum of 140 hours of voluntary or paid work
experience in a childcare setting before starting the course. As this course requires a good level of English, you will
undertake an assessment during the first class to confirm your place. You will need to be working a minimum of 14 hours
per week in a childcare setting on a voluntary/paid basis at the start of, and for the duration of this course, as you
will be assessed in the workplace. We will need to obtain a reference from your employer prior to you starting on the
basic ICT skills to undertake this course as you will be using an electronic portfolio, however if your ICT skills are weak,
please let us know and we can provide support with this.
After successful completion, you may wish to progress onto a Level 3 qualification. There are a range of qualifications
